PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES IN HEALTH CARE
INFORMATICS CONSULTANTS:
HEALTH
CARE INFORMATICS CONSULTANT
Under general direction, the health care informatics consultant
participates in designing, developing and implementing solutions
to meet the client's needs. The health care informatics consultant
provides design and analysis support on projects and develops
small components of the overall solution. Health care informatics
consultants gather specifications through client interviews. The
health care informatics consultant documents and summarizes the
interview results to be used in developing client deliverables.
The health care informatics consultant uses knowledge of information
technology and the client's industry to support members of the
project team. Health care informatics consultants contribute to
the development of service offerings and assist with proposal
development. The health care informatics consultant gains experience
in specialization and remains current on emerging service offerings,
tools and methodologies. Health care informatics consultants have
the ability to apply consulting methodology to collect and analyze
data. The health care informatics consultant has the ability to
plan, schedule, and monitor phases of engagements using established
procedures. The health care informatics consultant has the ability
to communicate effectively with clients. The health care informatics
consultant has the ability to support business studies and proposal
teams.
HEALTH CARE INFORMATICS CONSULTANT - NURSING
The Nursing Informaticist Health Care Consultant will be responsible
for changing the culture in nursing related to the implementation
of technology. The health care informatics consultant serves
as the primary technology resource for related clinical information
systems in Nursing. The health care informatics consultant has
responsibilities including planning and design of business solutions
and resources needed to meet business goals/objectives, facilitation
of the integration of data, information, knowledge and/or systems
to support improved productivity, efficiency, decision making,
and/or quality outcomes in all roles and health care settings.
The health care informatics consultant is responsible for implementation
and management of system configurations, analyzing data, information
and information system requirements. The health care informatics
consultant develops and provides a variety of reports. The health
care informatics consultant provides clinical and technical
expertise as a consultant to the user community, branch locations,
affiliate or managed sites, Information Services, vendors, etc.
The health care informatics consultant is responsible for the
orientation and on-going training and education of all user
personnel.
